Magic's Featured Dog

It was only by chance that Nicholas was rescued at all. He was found in a ditch in Ireland with a fractured pelvis and femur having been seen in the dark by the driver of a car who was en route to a function.

Having initially been fostered by Penny from Greyhound Rescue West of England, Nicholas was re-homed this year with Helen & Les Brewer from Somerset. Their initial reaction to the nervous and sensitive dog was "love at first sight".

Helen had suffered for many years with agoraphobia and was virtually housebound, but caring for Nicholas and ensuring that he had all the exercise and help he needed has meant Helen is now also on the road to recovery.

Whilst out on a walk with Nicholas she suffered an asthma attack, Nicholas although off lead did not leave her side.

"Nicholas is now a more confidant dog, he holds himself proudly as he is walked in the village".

Nicholas attends Magic's Pool fortnightly, is a fantastic swimmer (for a greyhound!) and looks fitter, happier and healthier as each visit goes by.
